Book dedicated to the costumes and masks of the Sardinian carnival. 12 countries are represented and for each one you will find the carnival ritual described, the designs of the masks and costumes in the style of Mara Damiani and the 'patterns' where the artist had fun developing new graphics on the theme of the country.

Mara Damiani Italy is a graphic designer who uses her graphic language to tell the sense of belonging to her land. Born in Cagliari in 1972, he has been working as a freelancer for more than 20 years with The Walt Disney Company (Milan-Los Angeles), establishing himself professionally internationally in the graphics and illustration sector for the Publishing and Licensing divisions. He collaborates with companies such as Expò 2015, Expò 2020, Mattel, Milan football, Mondadori, Lisciani, Nestlè, Cartorama, Clementoni, Leolandia, Egmont, Lamtara, Sant'Antioco Archaeological Museum, Selargius Museum. He specializes in Brand identity and Brand Design. "APPARTENENZA" is a design project that recovers geometric shapes from a past full of intense and contrasting colors: animals, ancient warriors, women with regal clothes, carnival masks, sacred stones, craftsmanship in its various manufactures, breads and sweets worked like jewels. Observing them, studying them and redesigning them like many small pieces that tell the beauty and uniqueness of the island is his challenge. Mara in her artistic project wants to show how through design we can be able to promulgate, protect and evolve the cultural heritage of a territory, demonstrating that the past and the present can always coexist splendidly together. History told through design, Design reinvents itself and evolves through history.
